Jenn's Bio:
“You can’t put me in a box”
Jenn Rock from The ROCK-Land County NY
Jenn Rock from The Rock hails from Rockland County NY, with roots from Poland. She’s first generation American with parents that immigrated from Poland in the late 80s in search for a better life settling in Spring Valley New York, a multiculturally diverse community.
She was first introduced to poetry & the violin in 3rd grade which inspired her later in life to start rapping and song writing. She joined the rapping poetics club in High School where she began recording in friend's home studios, free styling after school, and eventually purchasing her own equipment.
After losing her father at 18, she decided to go to college & pursue the future her mother had hopes for her nearly abandoning her own dream to make her mother’s sacrifices worth it. Her last semester in college she took a song writing class where she performed her first time in front of 500 + students which inspired her to not pursue nursing and instead chase her dream again.
She has a love for multiple genres which inspires her to fuse different elements together creating her own unique sound. These elements are inspired by hip-hop, rock, pop, R&B, jazz and alternative music.
Creativity and versatility are a staple to Jenn Rock’s art as she expresses her spiritual experience & human existence. Her father taught her about various religions, esoteric knowledge, mysticism and conspiracies at a young age which are a common theme in her music today. She grew up on Alternative, Classic, and Emo Rock but at the same time underground Hip Hop. Jenn Rock from the Rock doesn’t only want to express her personal journey but wants to help raise the consciousness of the planet with her words & ideas. Like Tupac once said, “I'm not saying I'm gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world”. This is a message she lives and breathes by.
